CEWI and D.O.C Club’s joint International Master Class tasting series will continue in 2026. We are returning to our original concept, which involves comparing Italy with the rest of the world through the lens of international grape varieties. The goal remains the same: we aim to provide an in-depth exploration of Italy’s leading premium wine regions, this time focusing on the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varieties, and we will draw parallels with the key international wine regions for these two flagship varieties. A serious tasting is in store, with the Italian side featuring Piedmont and Alto Adige, and the other side representing much of the world: Burgundy, California, and New Zealand. French elegance, New World style, and Italian flair. One thing is certain: no one has tasted this lineup like this before, so the discovery awaits us.
Our speakers are renowned experts on Italian and international wine regions. Fabio Aimar sommelier at Osteria Pomo D'oro, György Orodán Dip WSET sommelier at Trattoria Pomo D’oro, and András Horkay Dip WSET, international wine academic and head of CEWI. The host for the evening as always is Gianni Annoni who will be preparing an Italian specialty dish to accompany the wines to make the tasting experience even more authentic.
The master class is held both in English and Hungarian.
The tasting will take place on 6th May 2026., Wednesday at 6 p.m. at D.O.C. Club, Budapest I. district, Hunyadi János u. 11.
The Chardonnay & Pinot Noir, Italy vs. World Master Class tasting costs 33.000 HUF / person, which price includes a tasting of 8 special wines led by experts, as well as delicious food.
You can register at office@cewi.hu. The tasting starts with a minimum of 10 participants.
