About Us

The idea for Central European Wine Institute (CEWI) came while we were students at The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) in London, England, studying for the Level 4 Diploma.

CEWI, a meeting place, where everything revolves around wine, and where wine revolves around everything.

People from various backgrounds, driven by the same passion. Wine is magic, knowledge, culture, pleasure, taste, thought, entertainment, community, conversation...

We would like to share these experiences.

Gaining from previous experience, we had a rather clear idea on how we wanted to pass on our knowledge and so we founded our own school. We believe that knowledge must be passed on in a credible and professional manner to those who are geniuinely interested in learning and participating.

The education of wine consumers, and those working in the industry, are what keep Hungarian wine culture progressing. We believe in the necessity of education based on real, professional knowledge. Our school is based on the London WSET educational system, as it was created based on a broad and structured syllabus that provides guidelines for all participants in the sector around the globe.

WSET's Systematic Approach to Tasting is accepted and followed worldwide by oenologists, wine merchants, caterers, wine critics, top chefs and wine-lovers.

WSET (Wine & Spirit  Education Trust) was founded in London in 1969, and has ever since been providing the highest level of education for the professional members of the wine industry, as well as for consumers open to the world of wine. Over 50 countries around the globe offer WSET courses.

In addition to the WSET courses, Central European Wine Institute also provides specialized professional, sommelier and gastronomy courses.

Compared to other schools, it is CEWI's advantage that, in addition to being knowledgable about high quality wines, we have considerable experience in international industry, marketing, catering, top gastronomy, and industry strategy.

CEWI provides the most extensive and professional education in Hungary to those wishing to broaden their knowledge concerning the consumption of wine, the wine industry and wine writing.

CEWI has been one of the fastest growing wine schools over the past five years. Providing WSET courses, it strives to offer useful information and collective experience for those thirsty for knowledge.
